For years now, we here at Hornet have been redefining what a ‘gay app’ can be, and now we’ve made another stride that cements our role as the world’s leading gay social network. As you may have noticed, in addition to all the original content Hornet already publishes (across many languages), now the app also gathers content from some of the world’s top LGBTQ content publishers and places it directly in your hands.
Hornet is working with “Select Media Partners” to gather timely, engaging articles and place them directly in the app. That means story content inside Hornet is now more expansive and robust than ever, including more of what Hornet users are used to seeing: everything from celebrity interviews and travel stories to breaking international news and politics.
Take a look at some of Hornet’s initial Select Media Partners: Pride Media, which publishes acclaimed American outlets The Advocate, OUT and various online properties; LGBTQ-owned network Q Digital, which publishes LGBTQ Nation, Queerty and GayCities; U.K.-based digital publishers PinkNews and Gay Star News; Têtu, the leading digital gay publication of France; and HuffPost Brasil, which publishes news and lifestyle pieces in Portuguese.
Orlando Reece, CEO of Pride Media, had this to say about partnering with Hornet: “We at Pride Media know ‘good’ content must always have a home. Hornet has done an incredible job of not only creating a world-class app for queer people through their recent redesign, but they’ve also created a new digital space that will now serve as an equally incredible new home for our beloved magazines.”
A majority of Hornet users engages with content inside the app already. Many do so on the “home feed,” where they can like, comment on, share and post content of their own.
No longer are gay, bi, trans and queer men only able to connect with other guys based on physical proximity, features or stats. (We’re happy to leave that to all the other gay apps.) On Hornet, liking or commenting on a Story or Moment allows you to really showcase who you are and what interests you to other users, making Hornet a platform unlike any other gay app on the market.
So what are you waiting for? Go take a look at all the amazing article content to be found on Hornet — by our own team of talented editors but, now, also by some of the world’s leading LGBTQ content publishers.
