The Mirror just posted a video of a English Papa John’s employee threatening to kick the ass of “a gay bastard” (his word, not ours) just because he hugged another dude inside the pizza shop. After the name calling, the employee threatens to break the man’s cell phone and make him “eat it” right before shoving the couple out of his store, asking one of the men, “Would you shove his mouth on your cock?”, threatening to fight them and then slapping the phone out of the recorder’s hand, effectively cracking the screen and ending the video.
The person insulted by the employee (who withheld their name for fear of further abuse) recorded the heated encounter on his cell around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night and sent the video to Papa John’s head office. Police reportedly arrested the employee for suspicion of actual bodily harm afterwards. A Papa John’s spokesperson says that the “employee has been suspended pending the investigation” and that they are also cooperating with police, adding, “We are disappointed by this incident and have a zero tolerance policy towards any abuse of our customers.”
While we’re glad that they’re taking the attack seriously, Papa John’s is mediocre pizza anyway. The millionaire CEO John H. Schnatter infamously opposed Obama’s Affordable Care Act saying that he’d possibly have to lay off workers rather than charge an additional 14 cents per pizza to help cover their healthcare costs. There’s also a Pizza Hut, Domino’s and New Moon Pizza close to where this attack took place. Just sayin’.
