Have you met our new boyfriend? (Sorry, Cody Fern.) His name is Noah Centineo. Maybe you know him from TV series The Fosters or those super cute Netflix movies To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and The Perfect Date. Or maybe you’ve drooled over him in his undies, as he’s one of the latest Calvin Klein underwear models. But did you also know that a Noah Centineo He-Man performance is an actual thing that will happen? A live-action He-Man movie is indeed on the way.

It was late last month when someone with knowledge of the film revealed that Centineo was ‘in talks’ to play our favorite loincloth-sporting hero. Since then, the actor has confirmed that a Noah Centineo He-Man movie is coming.

The 1987 film Masters of the Universe, starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and Frank Langella as Skeletor

Masters of the Universe, a second attempt at a live-action He-Man movie (the first, starring Dolph Lungren, hit theaters in 1987), is being adapted by Mattel Films and Sony. Writers on the film include Matt Holloway and Art Marcum, who wrote Iron Man, and Aaron and Adam Nee, who are also set to direct.

This new live-action film — with its much anticipated Noah Centineo He-Man performance — is slated to be released Dec. 20, 2019.

Like the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon that so many of us loved in our childhoods (and maybe still do), the upcoming live-action He-Man movie is an adaptation of Mattel’s super successful action figure line from the early 1980s. On the planet of Eternia, prince and warrior He-Man and his team of fellow champions are at odds with evil warlord Skeletor, battling “for the power fo Greyskull.”
