Earlier today we saw Mike Sorrentino, better known as “The Situation” — famous for appearing on multiple seasons of The Jersey Shore and the currently airing Jersey Shore: Family Vacation (both airing on MTV) — sentenced to eight months in prison and two years of supervised release after he pleaded guilty to tax evasion.

In addition to that prison time and supervised release, Mike Sorrentino must fulfill 500 hours of community service. He has reportedly already paid $123,913 in restitution and must pay an additional $10,000 fine.

“The Situation” pleaded guilty in January to one count of tax evasion. His brother Marc Sorrentino pleaded guilty to a count of “aiding in the preparation of a fraudulent tax return.”

The two brothers stand accused of “hiding millions of dollars Mike made while starring on Jersey Shore between 2010 and 2012,” according to prosecutors.

Mike Sorrentino’s brother Marc got even more prison time than “The Situation,” having been sentenced to two years behind bars and a $75,000 fine.

“The Situation” appeared at today’s sentencing alongside his fiancée Lauren Pesce. And several of his Jersey Shore cast mates were present as well. Jenni “JWoww” Farley and Vinny Guadagnino sat inside the courtroom, and Ronnie Magro-Ortiz, DJ Pauly D, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Deena Cortese and Angelina Pivarnick were also present.

Also present: MTV, with cameras in tow.

Earlier this week, The New York Times dropped a bombshell report that it claims is proof of some shady tax evasion by Donald Trump. The Times alleges Trump and his siblings hid financial gifts through a fake corporation and helped his father, Fred Trump, illegally claim millions of dollars in tax deductions (which eventually trickled down to Donald Trump personally).

Maybe Trump will be the next to go to prison for tax fraud and evasion?

What do you think about “The Situation” getting sentenced with prison time for tax fraud?
