‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Fans Are Finally Getting Their First-Ever Werkroom Romance

Be first to like this.

In 11 seasons of jaw-dropping lewks and cringe-inducing death-drops, RuPaul’s Drag Race has always been (mostly) about the talent it takes to rule a runway in heels and a wig. Sure, there’s been drama — it’s reality TV, after all — but fans have never been treated to an official Drag Race couple … until now, anyway.

There have been Drag Race couples, sure, but never were both queens competing on the same season. Maybe you knew of Season 4 winner Sharon Needles’ partner Alaska before you ever heard “Hiiiiiieeee!” on the series. (Alaska of course competed on Season 5 and later won All Stars 2.) Remember the dearly departed Sahara Davenport from Drag Race Season 2? He and Manila Luzon (who appeared on the show the following season) were a longtime couple.

But on the currently airing Season 11, two queens are making the very first Drag Race couple a reality … or are they? (Gay men are so fickle, aren’t they?)

“We have a crush on each other,” Brooke Lynn Hytes says in the first few minutes of the latest Drag Race episode, airing tonight, March 28. Brooke Lynn (real name Brock Hayhoe) is referring to the one and only Vanessa Vanjie Mateo (Jose Cancel), a pair we’ve spied swapping kisses behind the scenes in previous episodes.

In fact, on the most recent episode of Untucked, the queens confronted guest judge Tiffany “New York” Pollard with the situation, who seemed more than supportive of a Drag Race couple.

In tonight’s episode (watch a 12-minute preview below), the two queens are quizzed about their feelings for one another after the queens sit down together following the elimination of Mercedes Iman Diamond.

“You know, I’ve been noticing a lot of chemistry between you and Brooke Lynn,” A’keria Davenport says to Vanjie. “What exactly is going on?”

“Brooke Lynn’s a good friend of mine. A really good friend,” Vanjie responds. (Cue the other queens’ laughter and cat calls.) In a cut-away interview, Brooke Lynn adds, “Me and Vanjie have a crush on each other, and we’ll see where it goes,” followed by his own feigned giggle.

“You know, I’m going with the flow, and if those kisses keep coming, I’m gonna keep accepting, if you know what I’m saying,” Vanjie says.

So does that confirm it? The first-ever Drag Race couple, sparked right there in the werkroom!

Earlier this week, Vanjie posted a photo with Brooke Lynn to social media, referencing “summer lovin’” in the caption. We have to say, that’s a cute couple, and these queens look sexy AF with some stubble on their faces!

If you could fabricate any Drag Race couple, which queens would it be?
